A Latino civil rights group has doubled its reward for information to help locate a woman who recruited 48 Venezuelan immigrants in San Antonio for politically motivated flights to Martha’s Vineyard ordered by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The search for “Perla,” the woman who recruited 48 immigrants in San Antonio for Sept. 14 flights to Martha’s Vineyard ordered by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, is intensifying.
LULAC said it believes Huerta worked for Vertol Systems, a Florida aviation company that has political ties to DeSantis. Records show the state of Florida has paid Vertol more than $1.5 million in Florida public funds to fly the migrants to the Massachusetts island, a vacation spot for the wealthy.
Moving vans were seen at her home on Tuesday, but neighbors said Huerta was not there. They didn’t know where she was.
