Drivers have been halted on both sides of the motorway
Traffic has been stopped on a busy stretch of the M60 this rush hour. National Highways said traffic had been stopped in both directions between junction 27 for the Portwood Roundabout and junction 1, the Pyramid Roundabout, due to a 'police incident.'
They said that officers from Cheshire Police are currently at the scene. Queues are said to be building on both sides of the motorway. No further details about the incident have been disclosed at this stage. Cheshire Police have been contacted for comment.
