The Mustangs are 5-1 in district play, 14-5 overall. The Tigers improved to 5-1 in district action and 17-7 overall. The two teams are knotted with Bryan Rudder, also 5-1 following a 57-33 win over Montgomery on Tuesday, for first place in 21-5A. “We got caught up in the moment,” he said. “We’ve been starting slow all year. I was hoping we wouldn’t do it tonight, but we spotted them a lot of points early. We showed some resiliency and bounced back and showed some character.”Junior forward Brandon Taylor and senior guard Brandon Beavers combined for 14 points to ignite an inspiring second quarter in which the Mustangs outscored the Tigers, 18-10.
