SEPTA officials say the victim and the shooter spoke with a third person after exiting a train before the shooting began.
The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a shooting at the SEPTA subway station under City Hall.
According to authorities, the shooting happened in the area of 15th and Market on Thursday afternoon around 12:30 p.m. Authorities tell FOX 29's Marcus Espinoza that a 19-year-old was shot in the chest, stomach and hand. According to SEPTA Acting Police Chief Charles Lawson, the victim and another man got off an eastbound Market-Frankford Line train at the 15th Street Station. The two had words with a third person, at which time the victim and the shooter drew guns. The victim was then shot.
The shooter escaped in the chaos of passengers running out of the station. There is no additional information regarding the third individual. Police say no arrests have been made and no weapons were recovered at the scene. SEPTA police are patrolling throughout the transit system.
