AKRON, Ohio — A 60-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash in the Ellet neighborhood, one of two fatal crashes that occurred Monday.
According to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, Lawrence Meiers died after his motorcycle clipped a vehicle as he attempted to pass a car on Albrecht Avenue near Ripley Avenue at about 7:15 p.m. The motorcycle clipped a car that was turning onto Ripley Avenue, ejecting Meiers from the bike, officials say.A 66-year-old woman was pronounced dead after a single-vehicle crash on Akron Peninsula Road, authorities say. The woman was driving north on Akron Peninsula Road at about 5:45 p.m.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
