At least three men arrived with in an SUV, and one of them attempted to rob Guzman of the marijuana, police said. Authorities said a gunfight ensued, and Guzman and Rodriguez were shot.Witnesses told officers the gunman fled in the SUV. He was wearing an orange or yellow shirt, police said, and had a neck tattoo.

Detectives identified a white Saturn Vue with a large placard hanging from the rearview mirror as the suspect’s vehicle, using surveillance footage. The vehicle’s license plate matched that of a vehicle involved in a shooting in Fort Worth in April, police said in the affidavit, and Bell was listed as the suspected driver in that incident.

Police learned Bell’s location July 18 was near the home on Lulu Street, according to the affidavit, and that he has neck tattoos. Gas station surveillance footage from the night of the shooting showed him arriving in a Saturn Vue and wearing a district yellow shirt, the affidavit says.Detectives said a witness made a “tentative identification” of Bell when shown photos of him.
