A trial date has been set for later this year
A man accused of kidnap and rape has appeared at Northampton Crown Court. Leon Svans, of no fixed abode, was charged with one count of kidnap and two counts of rape.
It was after a woman was attacked in May of this year, in the Greyfriars area of Northampton. The 27-year-old man was in court on Wednesday . Following the incident, the woman sought refuge in a town centre shop where staff provided her with support before police arrived. Svans pleaded not guilty to the offences and was remanded into custody ahead of a trial at Northampton Crown Court which will begin on November 30, 2023.
