Man who please alleged killed and ate part of an elderly man has cannibalism charges dropped
A judge said this week, though, that wasn’t enough evidence to make one of the most gruesome allegations in the case — he was also facing charges related to cannibalism — stick. So, the 40-year-old Russell appears to be off the hook for that, but he will still face the murder charges in relation to the death of David Milton Flaget,Russell was first accused of killing the 70-year-old Flaget back in September of 2021.
Flaget was reportedly a caretaker on Russell’s family property in Idaho, and police say they discovered his body inside his vehicle there, nude from the waist down, and they say he was wrapped in plastic. Even more disturbing they say that Flaget’s “penis, scrotum, both testicles and flesh from the outer right thigh,” had been removed. The next day, while executing a search warrant, they say they found tissue “consistent with the flesh,” “in and around” Russell’s apartment.Subsequently, an autopsy reportedly revealed he died via “blunt force trauma to the head and neck.”
The medical examiner believed that parts of Flaget’s body had been placed inside of the bowl in the apartment and then microwaved.
