One man was taken to hospital for treatment
A 36-year-old man has admitted damaging a council flat on a reckless basis after an explosion in Hucknall. Sean Harvey Page pleaded guilty on Thursday to damaging property, being reckless as to whether life was endangered on July 15, 2021.
He was previously convicted of producing cannabis and sent to Nottingham Crown Court for sentencing. It was reported at the time that emergency services were called to a block of flats in Chatsworth Drive, Hucknall, shortly after 2.30pm on Thursday, July 15. The windows had been smashed and the walls badly scorched in the flat. One man was taken to hospital with burns to his hands, arms, back and face - his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening. Page, of Curtis Street, Hucknall, was said to be in breach of a harassment conviction, where his sentence was suspended for two years, and had been convicted on January 11, 2021, of producing cannabis when he received a community order for 12 months.
A pre-sentence report is being compiled. The defence told the judge there had been an agreement with the flat's owners, Ashfield District Council, that the flat was surrendered to them and no compensation was sought.
