Albert “Tots” Medina Jr., 37, was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl. His courier, Francisco Ortiz, pleaded guilty in December and is awaiting sentencing.Medina was arrested after he attempted to sell at least 60,000 fentanyl pills to an undercover Castle Hills officer on Aug. 4, 2021. The officer was working as part of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
While arranging the sale, Medina told the officer that the pills were already in San Antonio and could be delivered for $10,000, a federal complaint said. Ortiz met with the undercover officer at a hotel on Manitou Drive, telling the officer that the pills were in a Nissan Altima in the parking lot.
