The 40-year-old man and 39-year-old woman are due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court next month.
Police say the arrests follow an extensive enquiry into alleged brothel keeping, human trafficking and serious and organised crime offences at a property and a commercial premises in the West Blackhall Street area of the town.
The 40-year-old man and 39-year-old woman are due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Friday, October, 11. Detective Inspector Nicky Beattie, Greenock CID said: “We are committed to working with our partners to pursue those involved in this type of criminality, with a strong focus on safeguarding individuals who may be at risk of exploitation.“I would urge anyone with information or concerns about exploitation of any kind, to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
