A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following reports of an alleged assault in Penicuik.
He made no plea or declaration during the short petition hearing, which was held in private, and was remanded in custody. The case was continued for further examination, with a further hearing scheduled for March 28 at which the case is scheduled to be fully committed to trial. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.10pm on Saturday, 18 March, 2023, officers were called to a report of a 22-year-old man seriously assaulted at a property on Dykes Road, Penicuik.
