Mr Broxup was found with a leg injury outside a house in Blackpool
James Welsh, 55, of Hollywood Avenue, Blackpool, did not enter a plea when he appeared at Preston Magistrates Court on Wednesday August 30. He was remanded in custody and will appear at Preston Crown Court on Friday September 1.
Police were called to reports of a stabbing outside a house in Hollywood Avenue, Blackpool, shortly before 8am on Sunday August 6. Mr Broxup was taken to hospital with leg injuries but sadly died the next day.Welsh was arrested and initially charged with section 18 wounding and possession of a bladed article. However following Mr Broxup's death he was charged with murder.
Lancashire Police are continuing to investigate the incident. A spokesperson said: "Officers attended and the victim, identified as Ryan Broxup, 47, was taken to hospital but very sadly died the following day . Our thoughts remain with his loved ones. "We are still keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault or who has any information. If you can help, please contact us on 101 quoting log 0358 of August 6.
