A MAN has been charged following an 'incident on the pitch' ahead of yesterday's Scotland v Israel match at Hampden Park.
Police said a 24-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident on Friday, May 31 which happened prior to kick-off.Pro-Palestine protestors were pictured outside of the stadium ahead of the game which was being played behind closed doors over fears of disruption.
Scotland went on to defeat Israel 4-1 after the game kicked off at 7.35pm, following a 30-minute delay, boosting their Euro 2025 qualification hopes. Chief Superintendent Stevie Dolan said:"A proportionate policing response was deployed at Hampden during the evening of Friday, May 31 and we worked with event organisers to ensure the safety of everyone in attendance and those in the surrounding area.
