A man has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder after police say he rammed his car into four men outside of Jeffrey Pub in the South Shore neighborhood.

“This senseless act of violence won’t be tolerated in the city of Chicago,” Brown said Tuesday morning. Dunbar surrendered to police Monday, according to Brown, after he was allegedly identified as the driver who “intentionally struck” the victims.Police officials said there was an altercation outside the Jeffery Pub that night. While this group of men was outside, Dunbar allegedly sped his vehicle into the men, killing 23-year-old Jaylen Ausley, 25-year-old Donald Huey and 27-year-old Devonta Vivetter.Brown said it appeared that may have been a “random act.
Police located the vehicle Dunbar allegedly used days after the crash. CPD Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan said the vehicle was traveling at a “high rate of speed” when it struck the men, and there was no sign Dunbar attempted to use the brakes. “This was a horrific, horrific tragedy here in the city of Chicago,” Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx said.
