Manchester City are taking legal action against the Premier League over Associated Party Transaction (APT) rules.
Manchester City could re-join the European Super League amid a legal wrangle with the Premier League , it has been claimed.
City claim that Associated Party Transaction rules currently in place to stop clubs inflating commercial deals with companies linked to their ownership and maintain the competitiveness of the Premier League, are "unlawful".In a 165-page document, they also say they are victims of "discrimination" and a "tyranny of the majority" after the rules came in following a Saudi Arabia-backed consortium buying Newcastle in 2021.
It's said that despite winning the past four titles, the club's relationship with the Premier League will be at an all-time low.City, along with a slew of Premier League sides, initially signed up for the European Super League in 2021 but soon walked away as a result of fan backlash.Juventus recently walked away, leaving La Liga giants Barcelona and Real madrid as the only two members.
