According to police, the passenger reported the driver was suffering a 'medical emergency' prior to the vehicle picking up speed, leaving the road and striking the tree on Mondial Parkway.
A Freedom Township man died and his passenger was seriously injured when their Ford Fusion left the road on Mondial Parkway and struck a tree.According to police, the passenger said the driver began experiencing a “medical emergency” and inadvertently stepped on the gas pedal, causing the Ford Fusion to pick up speed before leaving the road.
The driver was taken to University Health Twinsburg Health Center, where he was later pronounced dead. The passenger was taken to University Health Portage Medical Center and police said she is currently awake and able to communicate.Police also said they are trying to determine if they are related, as initial reports stated they were a father and daughter.
