State police said it's unclear what caused the 32-year-old to lose control and veer off the road.

A man died early Sunday morning after losing control of his car and crashing into a utility pole, then a fence, along a Cumberland County road, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The 32-year-old York Springs man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which state police said took place around 5 a.m. near York and Myers Road in Monroe Township. State police said the man was driving east on York Road when he crossed the center line and crashed into a pole on the westbound side. His Nissan Frontier continued east on the westbound side and hit a wooden fence before coming to a rest.

The man was dead when emergency responders arrived, state police said. His identity was not immediately available.
