Man accused of intoxication manslaughter in connection with southeast Houston fatal crash
A man has been accused in connection with a crash that left a woman dead early Sunday in southeast Houston.
Jose Martinez Vasquez, 19, was indicted Monday on suspicion of one count of intoxication manslaughter, according to Harris County District Court records. The Harris County medical examiner’s office had not yet released the name of the woman who died in the crash Sunday morning. Witnesses told police a white Chevrolet pickup had been heading north on Clearwood Street when its driver tried to pass another vehicle in front of it, according to the Houston Police Department. The pickup then struck a red Toyota that had been making a left turn onto Tavenor Lane.The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, near the 9500 block of Clearwood Street.
