The Monday night shooting was the city's seventh homicide this year.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of South 20th and Zarker streets around 10 p.m. Around the same time, police said a man who was shot was taken to the 2400 block of Market Street.It is unclear why the man was taken to Market Street and who took him there. Police Lt. Kyle Gautsch declined to provide additional details, citing the ongoing investigation.

Police had part of Market Street by John Harris High School closed off around 10 p.m. A car with damage to the front driver-side quarter panel was stopped in front of the high school.Monday’s homicide represents Harrisburg’s seventh of the year. Awas shot and killed early Saturday morning. Police later said they do not believe she was the intended target.
