A man who was hit and killed by a pickup truck on the West Side earlier this week has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner.

San Antonio police said Trevino was trying to cross the street without using a crosswalk just after midnight on Wednesday, in the 3400 block of Culebra Road near Northwest 36th Street.The driver stopped after the crash but then left the scene. He returned a short time later.

The crash happened just after midnight in the 3400 block of Culebra Road near Northwest 36th Street, not far from St. Mary’s University. Police said the driver of the truck stopped after the collision but then fled the scene, only to return a short while later. The man was pronounced dead by emergency crews.
