A 53-year-old man has been arrested following reports of an assault on Portland Road
A man has been left with "serious facial and head injuries" following a daylight attack in Blackpool.
Police and paramedics were called to Portland Road at around 12.30pm yesterday following reports of an assault. Officers found a man in his 50s who had serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital for treatment. A 53-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of section 18 GBH and remains in custody for questioning.In a statement yesterday, Blackpool Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses and footage after a man suffered serious injuries in Blackpool. Our officers were called at 12.30am today to Portland Road, Blackpool, to a report of an assault.
"They found that a man aged in his 50s, had been assaulted and sustained serious facial and head injuries. He remains in hospital. "If anyone witnessed the assault or has dashcam or CCTV footage from the Portland Road area, please contact 101 – quoting log 0024 of 26th March 2024. A 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 GBH and is currently in custody."
