Nottinghamshire Police have charged a man with burglary
A man has been charged after a mobility scooter was allegedly stolen from an Aspley man's shed whilst he was sleeping. Nottinghamshire Police say the 60-year-old victim was in bed at his home on Wendover Drive when the burglary took place at around 12.35am on August 12.
Officers have since identified and arrested a suspect on Thursday . Mark Jackson, 60, of Keverne Close in Aspley, has now been charged with burglary. Jackson has been released on conditional bail ahead of a Nottingham Magistrates' Court appearance on September 6. The scooter has not yet been recovered.PC John Jackson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "The victim in this case is understandably very upset that someone would steal their mobility scooter, which they rely on to get out and about in the community.
"After carrying out extensive inquiries, we are pleased to have now charged a suspect in connection with this burglary."
