The road was closed for several hours on Friday afternoon, with drivers told to avoid the area. It was reopened at around 5.15pm. In a statement, a Derbyshire Police spokesperson said: "We were called to a report of a collision between a lorry and a pedestrian on the A628 in Tintwistle just after 12pm on Friday 16 June. One man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
"The road has been closed in both directions between the A616 Flouch roundabout and the A57 Gun Inn."
