A 30-year-old man was shot and killed near downtown Antioch early Sunday morning, according to the Antioch Police Department.
Officers received reports of a shooting on W. 2nd Street, about a quarter mile from the Antioch BART station, at 1:51 a.m. When police arrived they found a 30-year-old man who had been shot multiple times.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died. According to the police, the man was from Antioch. The Antioch Police Department is currently withholding the identity of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
