Man shot during altercation with HPD officer in north Houston, police said
A car theft suspect was shot Saturday morning during an altercation with an HPD officer in north Houston.A 33-year-old man who police thought may have stolen a car was shot in the arm and wrist Saturday morning during anBefore the encounter, someone in a red car flagged the officer down around 3:15 a.m. as he was driving south on the feeder road, Houston police Assistant Chief Chandra Hatcher said.
The officer gave the suspect verbal commands, but the suspect did not comply, the assistant chief said. The suspect's gun went off multiple times during a struggle between the two, she said.
