Axel has been in rescue for eight months
A playful Staffordshire bull terrier is hoping 2023 will be the year he finally finds a forever home after becoming Manchester Dogs Home’s longest stayer. Axel, aged seven, has been with the rescue for 261 days, having spent summer, Christmas and New Year in kennels.
Eight months on, this lovely lad is ready to find a home where he can lap up all the attention from his new human, showing off his tongue-out party trick. Or should we say paw-ty trick? A spokesperson for the centre said: “As Axel became familiar with his surroundings and the staff he interacted with daily, he began to grow in confidence and would greet the staff each morning at the front of the kennel.
According to rescue staff, Axel walks nicely on the lead and loves to explore, so it’s very important he finds a committed family who are able to provide him with daily walks and ‘shower him in love and affection’.
