A 'deadly' virus with similar symptoms to Ebola is causing concern amongst health officials as an outbreak has been spotted in Africa.

Illness caused by Marburg virus begins abruptly, with high fever, severe headache and severe malaise. Many patients develop severe haemorrhagic symptoms within seven days. It spreads amongst humans through direct contact with the bodily fluids of infected people, surfaces and materials. WHO's response to the outbreak Teams have been sent out to the affected districts to trace contacts, isolate and provide medical care to people showing symptoms of the virus.
