MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed the Department of Health and other pertinent government agencies to stay vigilant in monitoring mpox, formerly monkeypox, Malacanang said on Wednesday, following reports that 41 people were quarantined after coming into contact with an individual infected with the disease, the first such case in the Philippines.
Herbosa said that immunocompromised persons, or those with weakened immune systems, were the most vulnerable to the viral disease whose symptoms were skin lesions, which can last two to four weeks, accompanied by fever, headache, muscle aches, back pain, low energy, and swollen lymph nodes.Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte in a press conference on Wednesday said the 33-year-old Filipino patient went to a dermatology clinic and a massage spa along E.
