Marcus Rashford's England Euro 2024 axe has come under scrutiny again
Marcus Rashford 's brother has reignited the debate over the Manchester United star's omission from England's Euro 2024 squad with a thinly-veiled dig at Gareth Southgate. The Three Lions laboured to a 1-1 draw over Denmark on Thursday.
More than just the statistics, though, Rashford looked a shadow of the player who the previous campaign had blasted 30 goals, playing with a swagger and verve under Erik ten Hag. Instead, the striker looked lethargic and many fans and pundits questioned his workrate and happiness. "These are of course difficult calls," Southgate said. "You are talking about very good players who have been important in what we've done over a number of years.
Rashford reacted to his England snub on social media, writing on his Instagram story: "Wishing Gareth and the boys all the best for the up and coming tournament."
