Martin Lewis admitted he "burst into tears" when he was first offered his This Morning job 20 years ago.
Recalling how he first landed his This Morning job, Martin said he had been trying to get on the show for two years but it never got to the then-editor. "We'd been two years trying to get on this show! So she asked me on the show and you saw that response, you [Phillip] were wonderful at the time. It comes as Martin was hailed a "national hero" as he won the National Television Award for Best TV Expert in October.
