After Maddow asked her whether she had heard Trump use the language, she responded, “Oh yeah, of course I did. And I don’t think that should surprise anybody given how virulently racist he is today.”“Yeah,” Trump said.At the end of the interview, Maddow read the White House’s response to the claim. “This is a book of falsehoods, plain and simple. At the end of the interview, Maddow asked Mary Trump whether she was concerned if she felt she was in “personal danger,” given that her book chronicles her family’s dysfunction and the president’s unfitness for office. “I am not scared. I am taking appropriate precautions because I am not deluded about potential scenarios,” she said.
She added, “Our family is quite vindictive and Donald has a rather passionate following… What ever the consequences are I am prepared to deal with them.”
