Portsmouth will head to Elland Road on Saturday with former Newcastle star Matt Ritchie in their squad
Leeds United's opening-day opponents Portsmouth have strengthend their squad by signing former Newcastle United star Matt Ritchie on a free transfer. The former Scotland international was a free agent having left St James' Park at the end of last season, following eight years on Tyneside.

“It’s a transfer that’s been talked about for a long time and it’s amazing that we’ve been able to get it done. As well as playing in the top-flight for a number of seasons, Matt also has plenty of experience at this level, having been promoted from the Championship a couple of times. Ritchie is excited to get started at Fratton Park, adding: "It's a dream come true. I've always had in my mind that I had unfinished business at the football club. I love the club, as we all do.
