Labour MSP MonicaLennon7 has warned 'it is only a matter of time' before a child will die in Scotland after the latest violent attack
Labour MSP Monica Lennon has warned "it is only a matter of time" before a child will die in Scotland after the latest violent attack.
A disturbing video of the attack, which has circulating online, shows the teenager being punched on the head in the South Lanarkshire town's Princes Mall on Sunday night. He can then be seen suffering multiple blows to his body as one youth repeatedly stamps on his head. “Unless the Scottish Government steps up and co-ordinates a proper response, it’s only a matter of time before a young person is seriously injured or killed."
Lennon continued: “The Daily Record’s campaign is getting to the heart of the issues, and it’s time that the Scottish Government put investment back into youth services and communities. Social media giants like TikTok must play their part too.Education Secretary Shirley-Anne Somerville said: "Violence is never acceptable and the safety of pupils and staff is paramount. We would urge parents or pupils to contact the police if they believe a crime has been committed.
