An Illinois man arrived at O'Hare Airport Thursday from Maui Thursday morning and described the devastation from the wildfires on the island.

Mark Mautino from Spring Valley, Illinois said he and his wife travel to Hawaii all the time for vacation.Maui glows an eerie orange, lighting up the night sky with plumes of smoke billowing from the Hawaiian island as wildfires burn uncontrollably."I remember getting back to our place," he said. "We thought a storm was rolling in and it was all the smoke from Lahaina."
