Magic realism is at the core of Lessico Familiare’s work.

Their uni-size and unisex garments are one-offs made using materials from their immediate families and the families of friends. These include garments, but also home textiles.
As restrictions eased, the trio started taking pictures of their work on their neighbors, one of whom is the fantastically photogenic model Benedetta Barzini. This started some buzz around the brand. “Then suddenly people around us, mainly here in Milan, actually noticed us, and they were quite interested in this project, mainly for the title: Why Lessico Familiare? What does it mean?” said Scaburri. It’s an important question because the brand’s lexicon is not only visual, but verbal as well.
The cocktail theme grew out of Terzo’s suggestion to create more of a “night” collection, but it also references the way Lessico Familiare make clothes: by mixing a bit of this and that and then shaking or stirring it into something that’s “rough and naive,” yet goes down easy. The cocktail contains homages to the glamorous formality of ’50s and ’60s dressing, with a soupçon of ’80s drama.
