Meet Maya Golyshkina, a photographer-turned-sculpture artist who uses found objects like CDs, colored pencils, tissues, and cutlery to craft headpieces, dresses, bras, and other wearable sculptures.

It wasn’t Bella Hadid or Kaia Gerber, and it wasn’t Marc Jacobs himself who, it should be noted, has become a prolific, fashion-mad selfie taker. The mysterious new face was a 19-year-old artist based in Moscow whom Jacobs and his team discovered in June while scrolling through their social media feeds.and she is a photographer turned sculpture artist whose work is whimsical and surreal.
“To be honest, I was shocked when they contacted me,” Golyshkina notes. “I don’t really follow the fashion world, but Marc has always been a huge inspiration to me.” She adds, “I like that he is what he is: real.” The young artist may value realness in her collaborator, but the pieces that she created for him are incredibly imaginative.
