HMS Queen Elizabeth has undergone months of repairs and is finally back on the water.
HMS Queen Elizabeth is due to leave Rosyth this week following months of repairs. The vessel recently underwent critical repairs to her starboard propeller shaft coupling.
Now locals could catch a glimpse of the impressive mega flagship carrier as it sails down the Forth following its departure between July 19-24. Temporary flight restrictions have been announced over the Firth of Edinburgh for the duration of these dates, reports Edinburgh Live. The restrictions have been put in place by Police Scotland and approved by the Civil Aviation Authority and the Secretary of State for Transport due to the event being "high-profile".The ship is "one of the most powerful surface warships ever constructed in the UK" and forms part of the Royal Navy‘s "two-strong fleet of Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers."Top news stories today Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond.
