“I had to look at myself and start to love myself all over again from scratch,” Trainor said.
“I made life. I gave birth. I had a c-section. And I’ve always struggled on loving myself and my body and there’s a lot of new scars coming in, so I had to look at myself and start to love myself all over again from scratch,” she told viewers. “I mean, I didn’t want to be naked in front of my husband. And he looks at my c-section scar like, ‘This is where my baby came out. This is the most beautiful scar I’ve ever seen in my life.’ And I’m like, ‘I want to look at it like you do.
When it comes to pregnancy surprises, Trainor joked about how her c-section experience went by quicker than she thought. “One thing I didn’t know about having a c-section: I didn’t know how quick it would be. You get the baby in seven minutes. It’s like popping a big pimple,” she said. “And it comes out and you’re like, what?!”
Trainor, who had never had stitches, broken a bone or had a scar before, recalled almost fainting when her husband took off her c-section tape “Like, I’ve already been through the surgery, survived. But him ripping off this little bandaid, I was like ahhh!”singer first revealed that she was having another baby on January 30 on a morning segment ofwith a sonogram photo pasted on the inside of her upcoming book. “We’re pregnant!” Trainor excitedly screamed as host Kathy Hoda opened the book.
Alongside her announcement and honesty around her postpartum body image, Trainor has also shared her prenatal mental health struggles during her first pregnancy. “When I was pregnant, I felt very alone,” Trainor shared. “It was also Covid times, so I didn’t have any friends that were pregnant with me, and I just remember being like, I don’t want anyone else to feel like that.
