A yellow warning will be in place for 21 hours next week
The Met Office has announced a yellow weather warning to cover all Nottinghamshire next week. The warning for strong wind is in place from 10am on Wednesday, September 27 through to 7am on Thursday, September 28.
It covers all Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire, along with parts of Leicestershire. In its forecast, the Met Office says: "A spell of strong winds is expected to move northeast through Wednesday, with a small chance that they could be significantly disruptive." The forecast goes on to say: "There is a small chance of injuries and danger to life from flying debris." The current forecast for Nottingham shows gusts could reach up to 36mph on Wednesday evening. Temperatures will reach highs of 18C
On its outlook for Tuesday to Thursday in the East Midlands, a spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Further sunny spells Tuesday, then a spell of heavy, showery rain late afternoon. Increasingly windy on Wednesday, with gales and heavy rain later. Drier, brighter and less windy again Thursday."
