Temperatures are likely to increase but remain cooler
More thunder is on its way to Yorkshire this weekend after days of wet weather and cooler temperatures.
Despite warm weather last week, cooler temperatures have returned to Yorkshire and look set to stay for the time being. This weekend, rain and drizzle is expected with some warmer temperatures on Saturday alongside sun. However, Sunday and Monday are likely to see sunny spells mixed in with heavy showers. These showers are also likely to be thundery.The Met Office forecast for Saturday to Monday says: "Dry and bright, perhaps sunny Saturday. Warm inland but some low cloud along the coast. Some rain overnight.In the longer term, the weather is likely to alternate between sunnier weather and warmer temperatures, and showers with colder temperatures.
"Areas of low pressure are more likely to track to the northwest of the UK so here it will likely continue unsettled with showers and some longer spells of rain which could be heavy at times. "The northwest may also see some periods of strong winds. Temperatures are likely to reflect this, remaining close to or perhaps a little on the cool side across the northwest, whereas the south is likely to be a little warmer than average."
