The damage is said to have occurred between the Trafford Bar and Old Trafford stations
Metrolink passengers have been warned to expect major disruption following damage to an overhead line tonight . .
It means there is currently no service on the Altrincham line and there are changes to services on between: Eccles to MediaCityUK; Trafford Centre to Warf Side; Manchester Airport and East Didsbury to Firswood.All other services on other lines into Manchester will come to the city centre and then turn back, said the spokesman.
