The Mets started a 1 p.m. ET game against the Braves. The team released the news of Cespedes around the first inning. He had not been in the lineup. Cespedes is 1-for-12 with five strikeouts in the past three games. In his first game back with the Mets since July 2018, he hit a historic home run on July 24.
