The leading health expert has described the way that a simple tensing of the muscles can have a real impact on your physical and mental health.
Michael Mosley has explained how one simple muscle exercise can be the key to reducing high blood pressure and ease off pain.
"By focusing on individual muscle groups, actively tensing them, and then relaxing them. signals are sent back to the brain, triggering a cascade of responses that change the way you think and feel," he said. Professor Ian Robertson from Trinity College Dublin also featured on the podcast and described how this exercise can activate the parasympathetic nervous system - calming your mind and body.
