A Wall Street Journal report said coach Jim Harbaugh has already felt consequences of allegations that his program used prohibited in-person scouting to steal signs of future opponents, including Ohio State.
Michigan reportedly rescinded a contract extension offer to coach Jim Harbuagh after allegations of breaking in-person scouting rules. the school offered Harbaugh a contract extension this season that would have made him the highest-paid coach in the Big Ten. However, it also reported that offer was rescinded in the wake of the NCAA starting a second investigation into the program — this time regarding the sign-stealing.
Yahoo first broke news of the investigation last week. ESPN first reported the scouting program centered around a recruiting staffer name Connor Stalions. The Washington Post last week reported an outside firm investigating Michigan had first given evidence to the NCAA, including a schedule and budget for games being scouted this season.
Harbaugh’s last few seasons at Michigan have maintained a tenuous feel despite the Wolverines’ back-to-back playoff appearances.
