Did you get much snow this weekend?
show the most snow fell in Newton Falls in Trumbull County . After that was Bath, in Summit County, with 1.9 inches observed, then a tie between Mantua in Portage County and Munroe Falls in Summit County with 1.5 inches.
The NWS also tracks a separate statistic called “Snow on Ground,” which shows a slightly different picture than the 24-hour observed totals. There were six inches of snow on the ground Sunday morning in Auburn Corners, in Geauga County. Lake County – also part of the traditional Northeast Ohio snowbelt – had higher totals as well; for example, Waite Hill had four inches of snow on the ground Sunday.
Communities in Mahoning and Portage counties had much more snowfall than Cuyahoga County in the month of March, particularly in the past 24 hours, NWS data shows. This weekend’s snow is a departure from one year ago, when Northeast Ohio only saw trace amounts of snow. In Cleveland, there has been 1.5 inches of snow measured since the start of March at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
The National Weather Service forecasts that up to an inch of snow could fall in Greater Cleveland Sunday, as snow that was expected to be gone by today in earlier forecasts continues to linger. The chance of precipitation is about 50%. On Monday, expect much more pleasant weather – partly sunny skies and high temperatures in the mid-50s.
