The trailer for the new 'Black Mirror' season has been viewed nearly 4 million times already
The streaming giant dropped the first trailer for the fifth season of “Black Mirror” on Wednesday, and the “Wrecking Ball” singer stars in one of the three key storylines that will be featured in the next chapter of the Netflix NFLX, +2.83% sci-fi anthology premiering on June 5.
Cyrus, who’s been teasing a new album all over her social media pages of late with the phrase, “She Is Coming,” has a meta storyline playing a singer with “a lot of different sides,” as she told Howard Stern last year. “There’s a lot of dimension to it.” The trailer, which runs just over a minute-and-a-half and has been viewed more than 3.66 million times on Twitter TWTR, +2.73% already, seems to shine a spotlight on the dark side of technology. “Avengers: Endgame” star Anthony Mackie also stars, and appears to be having marital trouble — as he is tempted by social media snaps of another woman. “Sherlock” and “Fleabag” star Andrew Scott is seen cocking a gun and being pulled over by police.
