Una nave X-wing Starfighter en miniatura utilizada en una película de “Star Wars” se vendió el fin de semana por más de 3 millones de dólares en una subasta de artículos recopilados y creados por el veterano fabricante de modelos de Hollywood Greg Jein.
La colección creada por Jein, quien murió el año pasado a la edad de 76 años, recaudó alrededor de 13,6 millones de dólares durante un evento en Heritage Auctions en Dallas. La casa de subastas dijo que asistieron todos, desde fabricantes de modelos hasta coleccionistas y fanáticos de la ciencia ficción, lo que hizo que el evento fuera el más concurrido en años.
Joe Maddalena, vicepresidente ejecutivo de Heritage y viejo amigo de Jein, dijo en un comunicado el lunes que la subasta fue “un testimonio profundo de mi amigo como maestro de efectos visuales y como uno de los grandes coleccionistas”. Jein fue nominado al Oscar y al Emmy haciendo modelos en miniatura durante casi medio siglo, y pasó toda su vida coleccionando trajes, accesorios, guiones, obras de arte, fotografías y modelos de las obras que amaba.
