A New Milford man who authorities have been searching for was found dead in pond.
The body of a missing New Milford high school student was located Friday in a pond, said borough police.
The student, an 18-year-old male resident of New Milford, was found dead in Hard Castle Pond, near Dorchester Lane in the borough at around 10 p.m. Responding to a call around 7:15 p.m. that someone went swimming and did not come back up, police officers were able to locate and identify the body as the missing high schooler, according to reports. The teen, whom police did not identify, was described as a student at New Milford High School.
The Bergen County Medical Examiner’s Office and New Milford police are working together to find the cause of death, according to a press release by the borough police department.
