A flick knife was found in a bag containing Niall Barry's passport as he travelled in a taxi with James Witham, who shot and killed Ashley but denies murder.
Footage of the moment a knife was found in a bag alongside the passport of a man who is alleged to have organised the murder of Ashley Dale was played in court. Niall Barry was stopped by police while travelling to Glastonbury Festival last June.
The prosecution's case is that Witham and Joseph Peers were "dispatched" to kill Harrison at the Liverpool property by Niall Barry, 26, Sean Zeisz, and Ian Fitzgibbon, both 28. The trio were allegedly directing the hit from a flat in Huyton. "On the morning of Saturday, June 25, Niall Barry and James Witham were in a taxi, travelling from the Pig and Wheel towards the festival. Uniformed officers stopped the vehicle they were in. In the rear of the taxi, along with Niall Barry and James Witham, was a holdall.
PC Whatley then finds a flick knife within the bag and presses a button on the side to release the blade. He says: "Oh hello, Mr Niall." Another officer adds: "That'll do, that'll come in." The jury previously heard messages and voice notes sent by Ashley to her friends where she details Barry flashing a knife at Glastonbury and threatening to stab Harrison, who is also known as 'Saz'.
The court previously heard Ashley's messages that claimed Harrison had been best friends with Barry before an alleged fallout several years ago which caused "heavy beef" between the two. The feud was "reignited", alleged the prosecution, after Jordan 'Dusty' Thompson, Harrison's friend, allegedly attacked Zeisz at Glastonbury.
